Hypnosis works by altering our state of consciousness in such a way that the analytical left-hand side of the brain is turned off, while the non-analytical right-hand side is made more alert.

While under hypnosis you will feel beautifully relaxed, but you won't be asleep. You will not necessarily feel 'hypnotised', and will stay completely aware of things and sounds around you

Aromatherapy is a wonderfully effective, natural way to support your physical and emotional health & wellbeing. This form of complimentary therapy uses therapeutic grade essential oils from plants, berries, roots, leaves and flowers, which enter the body through our sense of smell, ingestion or skin absorption, in order to help the body heal, rest and recover from stress and illness, or to simply promote relaxation and boost the mood. The use of Aromatherapy dates back to the ancient Greeks & Egyptians, and was also used by French soldiers during World War 1, to treat their wounds and help relieve anxiety & PTSD. Fast forward to today and Aromatherapy is often used in hospitals, having been recognised for its ability to treat anxiety & depression and also fight infection.
The essential oils in aromatherapy activate the smell receptors in your nose, which are directly linked to your brain’s limbic system. The limbic system affects your emotions, memory, learning, appetite, and sex drive. Inhaling essential oils stimulates different bodily responses, such as breathing patterns, blood pressure, and heart rate.
How are essential oils absorbed through the skin?
What happens when we inhale essential oils?
The skin is the body’s largest organ and when essential oils are applied to the skin, they are absorbed and travel around the body via the bloodstream. They then deliver a range of benefits to the body’s systems and organs. Absorption is increased by massage, as this increases the circulation in that area of the body.
Can anyone create their own blend of oils?
Only a qualified Aromatherapist, with a thorough understanding of essential oils is able to safely create a blend that provides the necessary benefits to your health & wellbeing, whilst taking into account any potential risks or contraindications. They can then also guide you as to the most effective method of application, given your individual areas of concern.
Good quality, restful sleep is key to your overall health & wellness. Poor sleep impacts many of the body's functions including its ability to maintain a healthy weight and fight infection. Long term lack of sleep can also contribute to a higher risk of cognitive decline in later life. Adequate rest gives your brain an opportunity to remove toxins, repair tissue and regenerate cells. Does it work?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a powerful self-help method and alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress, such as anxiety and PTSD.
EFT uses elements of Cognitive Therapy and Exposure Therapy, and combines them with Acupressure, in the form of fingertip tapping on 12 acupuncture points.
Following the Chinese Medicine concept of the body's energy meridian points through which energy flows, EFT clears blocks or imbalances in the flow of energy that can lead to ill health.
YES! Over 100 papers published in peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals, including dozens of clinical trials, have demonstrated that EFT is effective for phobias, anxiety, depression, PTSD, pain and other problems.

Is Reiki a religion?
Reiki/Seichem is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes relaxation and reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So put simply, Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy." During the treatment you will enjoy an overwhelming sense of peace, security and wellbeing as you feel a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki has many beneficial effects as it treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit.
Although Reiki is a spiritual experience that promotes peace and harmony, it isn't a religion and absolutely anyone can enjoy its benefits, regardless of their personal beliefs.
How does Reiki work?
We are alive because life force is flowing through us in pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. Negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.
Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. This clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
